As a reader, I believe in the power of a good story, and as a writer, I know how much effort it took to get to a finished manuscript. You owe it to yourself to give your words a final polish, but probably aren’t actually seeing them any longer.
I’ll read through your completed manuscript for a detailed line edit and a copyedit so you can hit submit with confidence. The line edit focuses on rhythm, clarity, syntax, and voice and the copyedit checks for grammar, punctuation, consistency, and readability.
The Process
Email me at lori [at] loriwriteswords.com with information about your project (genre, synopsis, where you are in the project, etc), your word count, a 750 word excerpt of this project, and how quickly you’ll need the edits.
If we are a good fit and the timing works, I’ll reply with a timeline, invoice, and payment info. (Typical turnaround is 2-4 weeks, depending on length of the manuscript.)
Once I receive your payment and manuscript, I’ll get to reading. I will use Microsoft Word Track Changes + Comments so you can see my edits and questions along the way.
When I am finished, I’ll return your manuscript, along with a style sheet, and we’ll schedule a 30-minute wrap-up call to discuss next steps and any questions you may have after you look over my feedback.
